Concourse Express service resumes

The Concourse Express (center) track between Bedford Park Blvd and 145 Streets, closed for 9 days due to repair work between 161 and 145 Streets, reopened this past Monday. I rode it earlier today northbound for the first time since the repair work’s completion and found that the stretch between 155 and 161 was smoother than ever.

Kudos to MTA track workers for the speedy and efficient repair job.

Rush-hour (D) service running local in The Bronx this week

For a period of nine days (this period began today), the Concourse Express (center) track will close to allow for significant repairs of track and infrastructure between 161 Street and 145 Street. To speed up the work, rush-hour (D) service in The Bronx runs local in both directions between Norwood and 145 Street all of next week.

Concourse Express service will resume on Monday, January 16th. (On a personal note, I wonder if that stretch will ride smoother?)

The REAL Concourse Express Run – Back?!

Time for a brief update after a nine-day interlude; had lots of fun tutoring today. I’d say this day was much-needed, given the series of trials my family and I faced (and continue to face) since May.

Now I noticed something that put a big smile on my face…I caught the (D) at 7th Ave going home – the last Concourse Express run of day; upon seeing the Yankee fans, I expect the “shaft” to take place.

Turns out…that it didn’t!!
